First Upper Deck SPx Rookie Redemption Revealed

Upper Deck will reveal a new player every week until all redemptions have been revealed.

Topps Reveals 2007 Finest Baseball Rookie #4

Topps announced that rookie redemption card #4 of 10 from 2007 Topps Finest Baseball is Pitcher Ted Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants.

So far the four announced redemptions are:

1) Hideki Okajima, Boston Red Sox
2) Elijah Dukes, Tampa Bay Devil Rays
3) Akinori Iwamura, Tampa Bay Devil Rays
4) Tim Lincecum, San Francisco Giants

Michael Jordan Fleer Rookie Buyback Autograph Surfaces

When Upper Deck inserted autographed 1986-87 Michael Jordan Fleer Rookies in 2006-07 Fleer Basketball, nobody knew how many were being made available.  After four months, one card has surfaced on eBay and it appears that there are 23.

The card currently up for auction on eBay is numbered 20/23.  With 9 days still left until the end of the auction, the bidding is already up to $10,250.  It has a chance to become the most expensive ungraded basketball card ever.  The Lebron James 2003-04 Exquisite Collection rookie is currently valued at $13,000.

Topps Reveals 2007 Finest Baseball Rookie #3

Upper Deck Spectrum of Stars Autograph Print Runs

Beckett has obtained from Upper Deck the print run, inscription and color varieties from some of the celebrities who autographed cards for the 2007 Spectrum Baseball set.

Collectors who pull a redemption card will not know who the card is until they receive the actual card back in the mail.

Upper Deck to Shorten Redemption Time

According to Beckett, Upper Deck President Richard McWilliam announced at the Mainland Trade Conference being held in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. that Upper Deck intends to move to a 45-day turnaround time for redemptions.  His goal is to ship 95% of the redemptions within 45 days.

He acknowledges that redemptions are very frustrating to the consumer and over the last few months operations have been reorganized in order to meet the objective.

Topps Reveals 2007 Finest Baseball Rookie #1

This years Topps Finest baseball had redemption cards for the first 10 cards of the set.  The only difference with everyday run-of-the-mill redemptions in other sets is that collectors do not know what player the card will show.  Collectors can turn in redemptions until August 15, 2007.

Topps has revealed that card #1 of the redemptions is pitcher Hideki Okajima of the Boston Red Sox.  The other 9 cards will be announced by Topps throughout the major league baseball season.
